These are a few of our favorite thing in and around our neighborhood: restaurants, food, shopping, activities.

In the neighborhood

• 🍕Da Paride: Great pizza in our building, yum yum.
• 🥐 La Vielle France: Very good pastries and croissants / pain au chocolat. Opens at 10am so not best for breakfast and is closed some days.
• 🥘 L’Atlantide: Very good Moroccan food, the restaurant is very nice, service is really great
• 🌳 Les Buttes-Chaumont: Our favorite park in Paris, great to sit out on the grass for a picnic, there are also a few bars in the park that are great (see below)
• 🏊‍♂️ Piscine Pailleron: A great public pool with an outdoor space to lay out on the grass. There is also an ice-skating rink in the winter. On really hot days there is a really long line to get in, but it is just the line to buy tickets. If you plan ahead you can get tickets in advance and walk in past the line. Just a heads up that French public pools are very strict about attire, you will need to wear a tight swimsuit (speedo or briefs for men) and a swim cap.
• 🧗🏼Climbing District: A decent bouldering gym 100m from the apartment
• 🥖 Pagnol / Ernest & Valentin: Two decent neighborhood boulangeries, both are fine but not amazing.
• 🤌 Les saveurs de l’Italie: A great Italian Delhi shop. Good for getting antipasti for a picnic or appetizer. A bit expensive.
• 🧀 Fromagerie Secrétan: Authentic cheese shop, very good.
• ☕️Oh my Cappuccino: Decent American style coffee shop, owners have a nice dog.
• ☕ Désirée: A nice coffee shop and breakfast / lunch spot that doubles as a flower shop.
• 🍺 Café Bolivar: Great terrace, fine for drinks, a bit expensive. Food is OK but expensive for what it is.
• 🍺 Cantalou: Great neighborhood bar, very friendly owner, only takes cash. They also serve moroccan food for dinner but have never tried.
• 🍺 La fontaine de Belleville: not really what I would call in our neighborhood but great café with great terrace.
• 🍺 Rosa bonheur / Pavillon Puebla : The two main bars in the parc, they are similar in experience, We like Rosa Bonheur a bit better but Pavillon Puebla has nice isolated beer garden feel.
• 🍺 Le pavillon des canaux: Great place to grab a drink on the canal de l’ourq. They have pastries and food too.
• 🛍️ EM Archives: Very well curated womens womens second hand clothing shop. Only open on Saturday or by reservation.
